Application of Ultrasonography. A healthy adult standardized patient lies supine. An examiner sits at the machine and changes settings only on your request; linear, curvilinear and phased-array probes are available. You hold the probe. Three tasks follow in order, a vascular access image, a nerve block image and a POCUS view, each limited to 2 minutes 30 seconds.2

Treat the model as Mr. Haddad, a 34-year-old man, 82 kg, brought in after a motorcycle crash with a closed right femoral shaft fracture and bruising over his right lower ribs. His blood pressure is 102/64 and heart rate 108. Peripheral access is poor. He is going to the operating room for femoral nailing.

Your task: for each request, choose the probe, position the patient, ask for the settings you need, and narrate the image and your endpoint.
