Mrs. Gloria Bennett is a 66-year-old woman, 78 kg, 163 cm, scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Five years ago she had an anterior cervical fusion at C5–C6; the records of that anesthetic are unavailable. She has reflux controlled on a proton pump inhibitor, has fasted, does not snore, and has upper front crowns. A facilitator will give examination findings when you examine her. A manikin, a videolaryngoscope with Macintosh-type and hyperangulated blades, stylets, a bougie, supraglottic airways and a front-of-neck kit are available.
Your task: examine her airway, state your plan, and demonstrate intubation on the manikin.
