Ms. Ortega is a 48-year-old woman, 112 kg, with a small-bowel obstruction booked for urgent laparotomy. A nasogastric tube was aspirated before a rapid sequence induction with propofol and rocuronium and cricoid pressure. Sugammadex, second-generation supraglottic airways, a flexible bronchoscope with an Aintree intubation catheter, a front-of-neck kit and a manual jet injector are available. A nurse and a facilitator are in the room; the facilitator gives you findings and events when you ask.

Your task: manage Ms. Ortega's airway and say out loud what you are doing and why.
